Dr. Stanley G. Finn

The following was submitted by
Darryl Wernham, CEO, Legacy Children's Foundation,
February 25, 2005.

Dr. Stanley G. Finn was an accomplished musician who dedicated his life to sharing his gift and many talents with others and was able to influence many young lives through his love of music.

Included among his many accomplishments was his 28 year tenure at the University of Calgary, Department of Music, where he spent two years as assistant conductor for the Calgary Philharmonic, was Musical Director for the Calgary Stampede Grandstand Show and later assumed the position of choral director for the Young Canadians, and for a number of years provided dedicated leadership as Head of the Department of Music.

We were all saddened by Dr. Finn’s passing on February 28th, 2004.

The Legacy Children’s Foundation – Alberta is pleased to be able to assist family and friends in honouring the life and work of Dr. Finn with the establishment of the Dr. Stanley G. Finn "Gift of Music" Fund in Support of Music Enrichment and Discovery for Disadvantaged Children. This Fund will be used to assist disadvantaged children in becoming involved in potential life enhancing experiences that will impact their lives through the "gift of music".
