Petro-Canada Teddy Bear Toss

Teddy Bear Extravaganza We held several successful events to sell Teddy Bears in cooperation with Petro-Canada and the Salvation Army’s Toy Mountain. Launch – was held at 6:30 am at Petro-Canada downtown with Don, Joanne and The Coach from CHFM broadcasting from location. Almost 400 bears flew off the table, as early morning buyers were out to support this annual program. Art Market – held November 17 – 20 at the Telus Convention Centre with a huge turn out of volunteers to “man” the booth at this uptown upscale art and craft show. Over 660 bears were sold to patrons and many were tossed into Toy Mountain. Teddy Bear Toss – Sales were very brisk the day of the Toss at the December 4 Calgary Hitmen game. 13,650 bears hit the ice at the 11:31 point of the first period. Many thanks to all the organizations and volunteers involved in this entire project: Petro-Canada, CHFM, Toy Mountain, Marlene Loney, Hug-A-Bear Express, Single Volunteers of Calgary, Konaco Consulting, Petrofund Corp, Berkshire Real Estate, BMO Nesbitt Burns, Champion Technologies, Gibson Energy Ltd. and Compton Petroleum.
